Ryan Farley

Chair: TBD

Why they joined Senate: I wanted to help provide accurate representation for the class of 2025 and create an open dialogue between the students and senate about wants and needs on campus.

Involved In: Men’s Rowing, Air Force ROTC

Favorite Moment/Event: Being encouraged to do a TikTok dance that was posted on Instagram in my first meeting after being sworn in.

Jimmy Janco

Chair: Honors

Why they joined Senate: I was involved with student government all throughout high school, so I have always had a passion for representing my classmates. I think my experience and fresh perspective will make me an effective representative for the Class of 2025.

Involved In: Honors Program

Favorite Moment/Event: Spending time with my new colleagues has been an amazing experience. Everyone has been so welcoming, but also dedicated and passionate. I’ve loved getting to know the other Freshmen senators, and I’m looking forward to collaborating over the duration of this term and having a great year with them all!

Sheridan Leak

Chair: Health Center Chair

Why they joined Senate: I ran to be a Senator because I truly enjoyed leadership in high school, and was so excited at the opportunity to continue to serve students at a school I love. I wanted to be able to use the diverse experiences that I have to collaborate with others and create real change here at SJU, and make our community as strong as possible.

Involved In: John P. McNulty Scholars Program, Honors Program, Black Student Union, SJU Naturals, Women's Leadership Initiative

Favorite Moment/Event: My favorite memory so far was the speeches! I had a lot of support with me in the theater, including many of the people who brought me in as family during my college transition. It was so special to have them there with me when myself and the other candidates were announced as 2025 senators!

Lisa Lam

Chair: College of Arts and Sciences

Why they joined Senate: I wanted to voice the concerns of others and be a person on campus that others can rely on. I also hope to promote inclusion and diversity. Going to a PWI can be overwhelming for a POC, especially if you come from a diverse community back home. I want to ensure all voices are heard, no matter race, gender, background. Along with so, I plan on also being an advocate for the women in STEM. Most STEM fields are heavily dominated by males and I want to ensure female-identifying individuals feel encourage to continue pursuing STEM and have the support they need.

Involved In:McNulty Scholars Program, Relay for Life, Asian Student Association, Junto Club, Project Sunshine, Campus Ministry

Favorite Moment/Event:  Playing "We're not really strangers" with some people on my floor and now they've become some of my closest friends!

Milton O'Brien

Chair: Haub School of Business

Why they joined Senate: To be able to be the voice for my fellow classmates

Involved In: PSIP, WInter Immersion Program

Favorite Moment/Event: My favorite moment was to be able to meet with Dr. Reed and experience a connection with senior officials at Saint Joes. Having the ability to meet with senior officials give us a senator the ability to express concerns that we and our fellow classmates have

Stanford Vassar

Chair:

Why they joined Senate: To become more involved with and to help the community.

Involved In:

Favorite Moment/Event: Being yelled at by Maurice at hawk wraps

Claire O'Byrne

 Chair:

Why they joined Senate: I ran to be a Senator because I knew it would be a great opportunity to meet new people and get involved on campus, especially as a first year student. I also knew that running for a Senate position would give me a voice for others and that is exactly what I intend to do. I look forward to representing the student body of SJU this year and I am excited to get started!

Involved In: SJU Democrats, Tuesday Rose Club, and Women’s Leadership Initiative.

Favorite Moment/Event: My favorite memory was giving my election speech at the Forum Theatre. I was honored to speak to my classmates and fellow senators and explain my platform. I was so excited when I found out we had all made it and would soon be sworn in!
